This department, among the five research-based departments of UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Peace and Democracy at Shahid Beheshti University, investigates and analyzes the modern theories of this domain via numerous national, regional and international conferences, research-based plans as well as writing and translating the relevant law texts.

- Establishment and expansion of national, regional and international relation among universities and research centers for the development of education and research in human rights;
